Funke & Bengie❤❤
Iro & Buba is a common traditional wear amongst the Yoruba ethnic group of Nigeria - my tribal group. Iro is the bottom or skirt and buba is the top. The style can be worn in many different ways, but my favorite is how I wore it in this post. In the 70s, Iro used to stop right above the knee and people began calling it "Oleku," (something elegant). I've been talking about wanting to wear this style for many years, so I finally talked my friend - Funke into making this for me. We visited the fabric store and as someone who loves mixing prints, this fabric was my favorite. The little model cutie that joined us is Funke's son - Benjamin. Thank you Funke!!!
